Meet Tristan
Hi, I’m Tristan Hoyer (she/her), a licensed therapist (LCSW) in Florida. I specialize in supporting adults in their 20s and 30s as they navigate trauma, anxiety, and the challenges of early adulthood.
I’ve always been drawn to helping people, but my path to becoming a therapist was also shaped by my own experiences with anxiety and the cumulative impact of trauma over time. As a late 20-something myself, I understand what it’s like to feel uncertain or stuck—and I’ve seen how healing can happen when someone truly listens and supports you. That understanding shapes every session, creating a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where growth can happen at your own pace.

My Approach
I focus on creating a space where you feel safe, supported, and empowered to explore your experiences and challenges. Together, we’ll find strategies and tools that feel meaningful for you—because therapy works best when it fits your life and your story.
I use a person-centered approach, which means you’re the expert on yourself. My role is to walk alongside you, offering guidance, perspective, and evidence-based tools tailored to your needs. This may include:
EMDR for processing trauma and shifting unhelpful beliefs.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for easing anxiety and reshaping thought patterns.
Mindfulness practices to reduce stress, increase self-awareness, and build coping skills.
Animal-assisted therapy (AAT) for grounding, comfort, and building connection during sessions.
I take a relational approach in sessions and don’t work as a blank slate—I bring my full self, creating genuine connection and trust. I prioritize working at your pace and finding an approach that feels authentic, compassionate, and sustainable.
Many people find that our work together helps them feel more grounded, understood, and confident in navigating life’s challenges.
The Heart of My Practice
Healing begins in a space where you feel seen, heard, and understood.
I became a therapist because of my own experiences with anxiety and the ways trauma can quietly accumulate over time. I’ve felt how heavy and confusing life can be, and I know how much it helps to have someone who truly understands. Those experiences guide how I work with clients—I aim to help you process your experiences, build practical tools, notice your own strengths, and reconnect with a sense of hope. Being able to witness growth and resilience, even in small steps, is what makes this work so meaningful to me.
The People I Support
I work with adults in their 20s and 30s who are navigating trauma, anxiety, and the ups and downs of early adulthood. Some come to therapy feeling uncertain about how to cope with life’s pressures, while others are ready to break patterns that no longer serve them.
I offer a supportive space where you can explore challenges, develop practical skills, and discover your own resilience—so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.
Beyond The Therapy Room
When I’m not in session, you’ll usually find me with a coffee in one hand and a good fiction book in the other, moving my body through pilates or yoga, or goofing off with my dogs in the backyard. I love trying new restaurants and spending time laughing with family and friends—these are the little things that help me stay grounded and recharge.
The balance, play, and connection I cultivate in my own life inform the way I show up in therapy, bringing presence, intention, and a sense of calm to the work I do with clients.
